Student Enterprise Programme
On Wednesday 20th September, a woman from the Student Enterprise Programme came to talk us about a competition of business. Firstly she explained us how the competition worked. If you wanted to participate in the competiton you had to invent something very creative. After she showed us who won the competition last year and two years ago. Your inventions were very creative and very useful. After thatwe did a creative activity that consists in create something with a paper clip. Our idea was not very good but some people had very good ideas.
In business class we are trying to invent something creative and my group is trying to invent the "Butter Stick". The Butter Stick is basically butter in a glue stick form. Its an easier method to put the butter. But I'm not sure that it will work!

IT is not just for Geeks!
On Friday 29th of September, we had a talk about careers in IT just before lunch in the Halla Nua. Aidan Heynes, a DELL marketing manager and Marie, a volunteer explained us how works a career in IT. They presented a powerpoint and after they showed us some videos. I learnt a lot of things about the videos like for example that a 20% that we search in Internet has never been searched before. Before the talk i thought that if you work in IT you only work in technology side of things but after the speech I understood that in IT you can also do a lot of different things.
I thinks that the speech has been very good and has given me new ideas about what can I do in the future.

Awareness talk
On Thursday the 10th of November, a man called Stephen came to visit us and to talk about "Mental Health Programme for Senior Cycle Students". The talk was in the Halla Nua and it went for 2 hours. He gave us a little book where we wrote a lot of thinks like: 3 thinks I am grateful for since yesterday, what stresses us...
He also explained us what the anxiety is, the symptoms of depression, why do things affect us differently... This talk was quite entertaining and I learnt some things.
